Linda Lowery, 55, was born to win. The Decatur, Ga., native held two Georgia track records in high school, ran for Tennessee State University and coached three Georgia State Championship high school track teams.

With a résumé like that, it should come to nobody's surprise that Lowery, a retired teacher and coach, is one of the top athletes at the 2007 Senior Games. She's competing in the high jump, 200-meter run and on Sunday, Lowery won the triple-jump crown in the 55-59 division with a 9.18-meter jump-her best leap of the year, she says.

"I worked hard all year," she says.

Hillen Von Maltzah came in second with a jump of 8.36 meters. Moments before, Von Maltzah won her 400-meter prelim in 1:12.50. Had it not been for stale legs, Von Maltzah might have been more of a threat to Lowery.

Elsewhere, Abe Ulanoff, 90, set a Games' record yesterday in the 90-94 Men's 1,500 Race Walk with a time of 12:28.21. In the Women's 60-64 1,500 Meter Race Walk, Yoko Eichel set a new Games' record in 8:37.46.
